Route: Apply directly on each university’s portal. Most taught master’s run rolling admissions; apply by spring for September and earlier for scholarships.

Your Student visa

Straightforward: Rules-based: meet the funds and English rules and most files go through.

1. 1CAS from your universityIssued after you accept the offer and pay the deposit. Check every detail on it.
2. 2Funds held 28 daysRemaining tuition plus the monthly living amount for London or outside London, held for 28 consecutive days before you apply.
3. 3TB testRequired for Pakistani applicants, at an approved clinic.
4. 4Online form and IHSApply online, pay the visa fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge.
5. 5BiometricsAt the visa centre in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi or Mirpur.
6. 6DecisionUsually around three weeks on the standard service.

Watch out: A single dip below the required balance during the 28 days is one of the most common reasons for refusal.
